The service and contributions that Telugu composers have made to the world of music are indescribable in mere words. Moreover, it’s safe to say that a typical classical music concert is incomplete without the rendition of a Telugu composition. 

It is a lesser known fact that not only the great Sri Thyagaraja, Sri Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu, but also other Telugu composers like:

In order to preserve the legacy of the beauteous music these stalwarts have created, and to pass these works of artistry on to our posterity, SWARAVEDIKA presents the Telugu Vaggeya Vaibhavam (Telugu Music Festival) program under the guidance of the honorable, Sangeethacharya Dr. Vyzarsu Balasubrahmanyam garu.

 

In this program, with the students of VBg, selected NRI talent will present 10 compositions of all of the aforementioned composers. The audition round is open to ALL U.S. RESIDENTS and requires NO FEE. Your submission must be an individually rendered Carnatic piece. Please ensure that the audio is clear and that the judges can observe your taalam as you sing.

 

(Note: While the audition round requires no fee, selected candidates will be required to pay a registration fee of $150 that includes Skype lessons, workshop/orchestra experience, and performance opportunity. The fee must be deposited by the date given in the Deadlines section).

DEADLINES:

  1. Register open from April 1st - April 20th

  2. Shortlisted candidates will be notified by April 30th (Rolling admissions as auditions are received by the judges)

  3. Pay registration fee $150/- by April 30th 

  4. Songs audio clips and Notation will be sent by e-mail by May 12th

  5. Online Skype sessions in June Dates to be finalized

    2. Training Session 2: Fourth week of June

    3. Training Session 3: FIrst week of July
